Summer-itis: (adjective) 1. Used to describe the horrible sensation of laziness that lingers from the summer solstice to the autumnal equinox. 2. A medical condition that causes lack of care, disgusting carpets, the use of paper plates and grilling out on the barbecue so that you don't have to dirty dishes. May also cause the reading of trashy romance novels in hopes of numbing the pain of summer ending.
Use in sentence form: "Doctor, I believe I have the Summer-itis.... can you cure me? I have a new hatching of fruit flies and it's just going to get worse if you don't prescribe me something!! Hurry, I think Hoarders is coming to my house this afternoon!!"
I have the Summer-itis.... I caught it from doing too much homework.... it doesn't look like it's going to clear up any time soon either. Ahhh well, at least I have a fresh stock of trashy romance novels to numb me into thinking that life actually is a happy place where everyone gets along, your house is always clean and you never have a period or have to ever worry about having your period. Totes normal, right?
I am hoping this case clears up soon because I may need to hire a cleaning service if this dose of reality I keep throwing at it doesn't clear it up!
I gotta go hang out in the hammock and watch someone else work... meh.
