Oddly Enough, It's Educational

We have since gotten AT&T U-Verse in my household.  It rocks, imma just take an opportunity to tell you that straight off.  We switched everything over from Verizon and Comcast and saved a BOAT load of money.  As many of you know, I am a little anal retentive about saving money as I am poor.  When we figured out the deal and basically got Cable for free, I was happy to switch over.  Let's just say, DVR rocks my socks.  I can fast forward through all the nonsense that I don't want to watch and go about my merry watching habits.  Since the appearance of the DVR in my household I have learned just how exactly geeky my husband is.  I love him to death, but HOLY WOAH!!, he's a super geek!  Lemme explain.
We get to pick what shows to watch, how many times a day to record them and we can preview reruns to see if we have already seen them before.  Highly useful when you really want to see the latest season of NCIS but in order.  The last time we had cable it was basic and very basic at that.  They gave you a remote and a box and said the UP and DOWN buttons work the best, plus there used to be the Preview Channel.... yeah, I'm old and crusty get over it.

Here are my picks for TV watching:
NCIS
NCIS Los Angeles
Bones
French Food At Home
Nigella Express
Jamie Oliver At Home

Here are the reasons I watch those shows:
NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles- helps me deal with my inadequacies and my anger issues towards bad people.
Bones- helps me relate to my bestie.  I swear they are following us around.  Bestie= Temperance Brennan, Me= Angela.
French Food at Home, Nigella, and Jamie- help me with my domestic goddess training.

My Life Partner's Choices:
Star Trek- on 47 different channels
Iron Chef
Other weird Syfy channel crap

I am to the point where I am not sure if I should tell him the Star Trek should be watched with as much shame as Porn or what.  I just don't think you should really advertise to other people, especially your spouse, your geeky Star Trek habit.  Although it kinda creeps me out, I have been watching it with an outsider's view point and that crap is actually educational, I hate to admit it but it is.

Recent Topics and Their Educational value:
The Android had successfully cloned himself but in female form.  He was basically her parent and they tried to take her away from him to study her because she had learned the way to use contractions in a sentence.  = Don't mess with a momma bear, especially not a cyborg/android with slight autism.

Jean Luc Picard had to deal with the doctor.  He was rough with her and it hurt her feelings. = Just because the doctor is the bearer of bad news doesn't mean it's their fault.  Take care of yourself and own the outcomes to your decisions.

A little girl brought to life her imaginary friend but it turned out to be an evil cyborg infiltrating the ship under the guise of an real life friend. = Don't talk to yourself or spirits.  Never trust blonde haired little girls in perfectly pressed dresses.

A distress call went out to the Enterprise and they went to help.  Genetically cloned and altered children were giving their non-genetically altered adults severe rheumatoid arthritis.  Or at least that's the idea I got from the horrible actress trying to convey pain and debilitation. = Never trust young people.  Especially ones that have been made in a lab, they will give you old people diseases.

Q came and gave Captain Riker special abilities.  Riker gave everyone what they wanted.  Including letting some teenager skip puberty and voice changes, Jordie got sight and a lady friend.  Wharf got a Nubian Princess that tried to eat his face off.  = Don't screw with puberty, sight or princesses.  They will try to eat your precious faces every time.

Alright, I gotta go learn how to make a terrine.  It sounds terrible but I'm sure it's delicious as the French know how to make everything look and taste fantastic!  Cheers!
